Two litres of slow-cooked preserves with a spout that pours clean and reseals between uses, made for the pace of a prep line. Yield: roughly 67 to 133 servings per pouch at 15 to 30 mL.

Available in three flavours. Hot Mango Spread, sweet ripe mango with a gentle heat from habanero and jalapeño. Onion & Thyme Spread, slow-cooked onions with apples, thyme, and balsamic, deeply savoury with a subtle sweetness. Or Spicy Tomato Spread, the first recipe ever made in the SaltSpring Kitchen, slow-cooked tomatoes and caramelized onions with brown sugar, jalapeños, ginger, and warm spices, balanced between savoury and spicy.

Ingredients

Hot Mango Spread

Cane sugar, mangoes, apple cider vinegar, jalapeños, pectin, lime juice, and habaneros.

Onion & Thyme Spread

Onions, apples (apples, ascorbic acid, citric acid, salt), cane sugar, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar (sulphites), lemon juice, and spices. Contains mustard.

Spicy Tomato Spread

Tomatoes, cane sugar, onion, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, jalapeños, lemon juice, ginger, and spices.

Dietary Notes

Applies to all three flavours:

  • Vegan.
  • Does not contain gluten.
  • No artificial preservatives.
  • Produced in a facility that does not use peanuts or tree nuts.

Onion & Thyme Spread contains mustard and sulphites.

Storage & Shelf Life

Shelf-stable with ambient storage recommended until opened. Each pouch is produced with 18 months from production date to best before date. We guarantee at least 12 months remaining at time of shipment, though it is often more. After opening, refrigerate and use within 90 days for best quality.

Food Safety Commitment

We meet or exceed Canadian food standards and are audited regularly. We have robust systems in place for any potential recall, and have not had a recall to date.
